What does Rucksack KiTa want?

The focus is on general and multilingual language and family education integrated into everyday life, which is supported jointly by parents/families and the KiTa.

Who can participate in Rucksack KiTa?

  • Children between the ages of four and six who are growing up multilingual and their parents/families who want to learn about and use the potential of multilingualism in the first years of their children's lives and the daycare centre attended by the child.
  • Condition: The KiTa is connected to the programme
  • Educational institutions that want to open up to diversity-oriented diversity (diversity-oriented)

Where does a Rucksack KiTa group take place?

The Rucksack KiTa-Group is offered on site at the participating KiTa.

When can my child start with Rucksack KiTa?

It is recommended to start at the beginning of the kindergarten year and after the settling-in period.

When does a Rucksack KiTa group take place?

The Rucksack KiTa-The group usually takes place during the kindergarten year: 1 x a week for approx. 9 months.

Who is responsible for the programme?

Rucksack KiTa is professionally supported by the Land-wide coordination offices (LaKos). The LaKo is also responsible for the overall coordination in NRW and nationwide.

Implementation is obligatory in cooperation with the local Municipal Integration Centres (KI) and the nationwide cooperation partners (Land coordination offices, local and/or regional programme coordination offices).

Who is responsible for recruiting participants in the programme and which methods of recruiting families have proven successful?

  • Possibly advertising via migrant communities and MSOs and, if necessary, in consultation with the Integration Council.

What requirements should parent guides have?

The cooperation agreement specifies the respective responsibilities and deadlines for proof of use.

What about cooperation agreements between LaKI and KI/federal cooperation partner or KI/federal cooperation partner and executing agency, institution?

Implementation is tied to cooperation agreements.

What is the remuneration of the parent guides and which deadlines have to be taken into account?

As a rule, the work as a parent companion is remunerated. The LaKI collects average values and makes recommendations based on the rates for family education/VHS. However, the remuneration can also be based on the lump sum for exercise leaders or in the form of a mini-job. There is also the case of release of permanent staff, which replaces direct remuneration.

Who trains the parent guides?

Recommended:

The training is led by the local AI/federal cooperation partner, who later organises the training. Rucksack KiTa-The programme is designed to accompany parent groups and thus be a contact person for the parent guides from the very beginning. Information on the programme can be obtained from the local KI/federal cooperation partner.

Speakers can be brought in for specific topics, e.g. media education, literacy, etc.

What should be the focus of the training?

How can an exchange/reflection meeting between different Rucksack KiTa groups be organised?

At what group size does it make sense to fund the programme?

A consistent group size between 6 (minimum) and 18 people is recommended.

What does long-term financing look like?

Possibilities:

  • Within the framework of integration and education conferences of the state/city/district, definition of integration goals, especially for language promotion, family education/adult education as well as synergy effects through state and federal programmes (IfKuF, Sprach-Kitas, etc.).
  • Local agreements, budget Rucksack KiTa To be firmly included in the budget of the respective youth welfare office/funding of the family centres
  • Generous donation from a company / football club etc.
