A successful model from NRW that is in demand nationwide
The implementation of Griffbereit has been managed and supported in NRW by the Statewide Coordination Office (LaKo) since 2013.
Since 2017, the LaKo also the nationwide transfer, which is supported by the Auridis Stiftung gGmbH. In the meantime, there are already more than 470 Griffbereit-Groups. The programme is also being successfully implemented in other European countries.
Framework conditions
A suitable settlement option for Griffbereit are family centres or educational institutions that are a contact point for parents/families with an international family history, such as providers of German/parent integration courses, bridge offers. In addition, open offers in accommodation for families with refugee experience are possible.
If there is not yet a Land coordination office in the Land or a local coordination office, interested providers (programme providers) conclude a cooperation agreement with the LaKo NRW. Afterwards they receive the Griffbereit-Material package free of charge as a PDF file.
Through the agreement, all programme providers undertake to comply with the quality standards of the programme and to ensure these at all levels. The local provider finances the implementation of the programme as well as the training, fees and guidance of the parent guides.
The federal transfer team based at the ZfTI coordinates and/or accompanies the programme nationwide, also in cooperation with other offices and agencies, and offers information events and training. The federal transfer team is also responsible for continuous professional support. The aim is to establish Land coordination offices in each Land in which the programme is applied in order to ensure targeted support for the work on the ground.
