With the beginning of the war in Ukraine, a growing number of families and children are encountering an unfamiliar education and care system. This is accompanied by special demands, also for the professionals from daycare centres, municipalities and service providers. The state of North Rhine-Westphalia has special expertise in facilitating the access of refugee children and families to the education system, e.g. in the areas of (refugee) migration and multilingualism in the municipal integration centres. Among the numerous successful strategies and programmes are the Griffbereit and Rucksack KiTa programmes. Such day care services are a bridge to society.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In the lecture, experiences from support contexts for children and families with refugee experience will be brought together to develop strategies for the current situation of the day care system. The scientific evaluation of the bridge programmes in NRW and the federal programme Kita-Einstieg on the one hand enables statements to be made about the social interactions and free play of children who are affected by refugee-related stress and possible traumatisation. On the other hand, there is a focus on the increased demands expressed by professionals when it comes to cooperation with the family, language-related barriers or material for early childhood education practice. Existing practice and qualification material will be discussed in the lecture against the background of established concepts (prejudice-conscious education and upbringing, inclusive pedagogy) in order to show perspectives for diversity-sensitive action in early education.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
