On 28 June, Josefine Paul, Minister of Family Affairs of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, visited the municipal children's and family centre Rheinstra\u00dfe in Mettmann to get a personal impression of the \"Griffbereit\" programme and to pay tribute to the dedicated work of the project partners involved. The Auridis Foundation, represented by Managing Director Marc von Krosigk and his colleague Pina Nell, was also on site to experience the practical implementation of the programme together with the Minister and to talk about future prospects.<\/p>\n

Griffbereit is a language and family education programme for parents\/families with and without an international family history and their children aged one to three. The programme focuses on parent-child interaction to strengthen (multi-)linguistic development. The programme involves children, parents\/families and educational professionals. Children with a history of immigration are not only supported in the German language, but also in their family language.<\/p>\n

In the district of Mettmann, the Mettmann District Integration Centre<\/a> The \"griffbereitMINI\", \"Griffbereit\" and \"Rucksack KiTa\" language education programmes have been running since 2013. There are now a total of three \"griffbereitMINI\", 22 \"Griffbereit\" and 18 \"Rucksack KiTa\" groups at 33 locations in the Mettmann district. The programmes reach around 350 families and over 400 children. The languages spoken in the groups alongside German are Azerbaijani, Albanian, Arabic, Bulgarian, Chinese, English, Farsi, French, Greek, Hindi, Italian, Kurdish, Polish, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Spanish, Tamazight, Turkish and Ukrainian.<\/p>\n

In addition to the state and the district, the funding body is also the Auridis Foundation<\/a>which supports public and private organisations throughout Germany in sustainably improving the conditions in which children grow up with their offers and services.<\/p>\n

Since 2021, the Centre for Turkish Studies and Integration Research<\/a> (ZfTI) is responsible for the federal transfer of the programmes.<\/p>\n
