After 2017, the nationwide working group for the griffbereitMINI, Griffbereit and Rucksack KiTa programmes took place for the second time in Hanover, the capital of Lower Saxony. More than 90 people from across Germany, most of them programme coordinators, took part in the symposium on 6 May 2024 at the Pavillon cultural centre. \"Democracy - life in the family, daycare centre and social space\" was the thematic focus of this year's working group.<\/p>\n

We are experiencing increasing diversity, intergenerational change and a boom in immigration, which require customised strategies for successful individual democracy education and respectful coexistence. Approaches to this were discussed in the keynotes and workshops, including social space orientation and good participation programmes as important components of these strategies.<\/p>\n

At the beginning of the event, which was organised by Anna Hochnadel (Mental coaching Braunschweig<\/a>), Ms Susanne Blasberg-Bense, Head of the Department for Youth, Family and Education in the state capital of Hanover, and Mr Andreas B\u00f6er, Family Policy Officer at the Lower Saxony Ministry of Social Affairs, gave welcoming speeches and aptly introduced the topic. In addition, Britta Kreuzer (LAG Soziale Brennpunkte Niedersachsen e.V.) and Safa Mazi (Bundestransfer-Team) thanked the Ministry for Children, Youth, Family, Equality, Flight and Integration (MKJFGFI NRW), the Lower Saxony Ministry for Social Affairs, Labour, Health and Equality and the Auridis Foundation for their financial support in organising the event.<\/p>\n

Prof. Dr Katja Gramelt, an educational scientist specialising in diversity at D\u00fcsseldorf University of Applied Sciences, and Ms Michaela Kruse from the Lower Saxony Institute for Early Childhood Education and Development (Nifbe) inspired the audience with their topic-related keynote speeches and laid the foundation for an intensive exchange and lively discussion among the participants. The focus was on the topics of \"Children and adultism\" and \"Children's rights, participation and democracy education in daycare centres\".<\/p>\n

Two separate rounds of workshops with a total of eight topics offered an exciting and often self-reflective programme for all participants throughout Germany thanks to the diversity on offer.<\/p>\n

Miriam Weilbrenner (MKJFGFI) and Marc Christian Neumann (Federal Transfer Team) took over the farewell on behalf of the entire organisation team. As the next Federal Working Group 2025 will take place in North Rhine-Westphalia, the symbolic \"Golden Rucksack\" was ceremoniously presented to the IKEEP speakers Sabine Leipski (KI Recklinghausen) and Ebru Hilbig (KI Hamm) by Britta Kreuzer and Friederike F\u00fcrstenau (State Coordination Lower Saxony). Planning for next year's implementation has already begun.<\/p>\n
