A total of 65 representatives from foundations, politics, science and the specialist levels in the fields of integration and early childhood education came together at the symposium in Freiburg Theatre on 7 February 2024 with the aim of laying the foundations for a comprehensive and effective network between the stakeholders at state level, pooling expertise, using resources efficiently and forming topic-related advocacy groups.<\/p>\n

The kick-off event organised by the ZfTI, the Auridis Foundation and the Freiburg Adult Education Centre was dedicated to setting up a state coordination office for the Griffbereit and Rucksack KiTa programmes, which are already running successfully in many locations in Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg and reach around 300 children and their families.<\/p>\n

The welcoming addresses by Christine Buchheit, Mayor of the City of Freiburg, and Dorothea Wehinger (Member of the Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg State Parliament), the explanation of the objectives by Miriam Weilbrenner (MKJFGFI) and Prof. Dr Dirk Halm (ZfTI) and the keynote speeches by Prof. Dr Rosemarie Tracy (University of Mannheim) and Prof. Dr Timm Albers (University of Paderborn) laid the foundation for the establishment and importance of a state coordination centre. Subsequently, the further implementation process was intensified through networking and exchange at the \"Market of Opportunities\", including at the stands of the Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg Early Childhood Education Forum, the programme cooperation partners and the federal transfer office.<\/p>\n

The strategic conclusion was formed by an expert discussion in which, in addition to possible implementation perspectives and challenges, indicators were examined from different perspectives, which are necessary for the next steps towards a state coordination centre in Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg. Pina Nell (Project Manager Auridis), Sheyma Arfawi (LaKo Berlin), Sabine Michael (Head of the Education Office Weinheim), Hartmut Allgaier (Head of the Education Management Office Freiburg) and Prof Dr Timm Albers took part in the panel discussion.<\/p>\n

Further steps towards a state coordination centre in Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Building on the networking results of the kick-off event, the follow-up format \"Planning workshops for the next steps\" offers the opportunity to further intensify the processes initiated to date. To this end 26.04.2024<\/strong> from 10:00 to 12:00<\/strong> will be organising a digital follow-up meeting, to which all interested stakeholders are cordially invited.<\/p>\n

Background: <\/strong><\/p>\n

The griffbereitMINI, Griffbereit and Rucksack KiTa programmes combine the approach of multilingual education with a concept of diversity-conscious cooperation with families and thus strengthen the educational partnership between families and institutions. The aim of the federal transfer of the programmes is to establish Country coordination centres (LaKo)<\/a>which are set up and qualified in such a way that they can take over the resources and services provided and independently implement the coordination of the programmes in their federal state.<\/p>\n

There are currently already LaKos in Lower Saxony, Berlin, Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia. Scientific evaluations have proven the benefits of central state coordination to bundle all programme-specific processes. In Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg, the federal programmes Griffbereit and Rucksack KiTa have already proven their worth for many years at various locations.<\/p>\n
