The \"griffbereitMINI\", \"Griffbereit\" and \"Rucksack KiTa\" programmes support families with a history of immigration and from socially difficult backgrounds in the educational progress of their children.<\/p>\n

The parent mentors are the link between parents, daycare facilities and other institutions in the community in the support programmes. Above all, they support families with questions about early childhood education and provide information about growing up healthily and the necessity of attending daycare centres. They also help with contacts to institutions. *Families and children also receive support from the parent counsellors on the topic of multilingualism by informing them about the associated potential.<\/p>\n

On 4 December 2023, Integration Minister Josefine Paul (@josefine.paul.green<\/a>) welcomed some of the parent mentors as well as programme coordinators, academics and cooperation partners. In cooperation with the Centre for Turkish Studies and Integration Research (ZfTI) and the Municipal Integration Centre Essen, we invited parents to a nationwide conference of parent mentors.<\/p>\n

\"Whether it's multilingual education, family participation or educational institutions opening up to migrant communities - you make an important contribution in all of these areas by supporting parents. Thanks to people like you, who are committed and work tirelessly to support individuals, our society is becoming strong in all its diversity,\" said Minister Paul.<\/p>\n

The hybrid format, which was implemented for the first time, enabled over 370 participants to find out about current priorities, developments and career prospects on site at the ChorForum Essen and Digital and to discuss opportunities within the framework of the respective programme implementation. The conference also served as an opportunity to exchange ideas about the programmes and their working approaches as well as to network with each other. Another highlight of the event was the premiere of the new griffbereitMINI-Imagefilms<\/a>.<\/p>\n
